WOLF: Hard Work Is Paying Off
October 9, 2006Swedish metallers WOLF have issued the following update:
"Thanx for the great words and support we've gotten from all off you out there regarding [the new WOLF album] 'The Black Flame'. We put a great deal of work behind this album and it's good to see it's paying off. In further news; we are very honoured and pleased to be a part off the Sweden Rock fest kick off party in December, and are looking forward to drink HARDCORE SUPERSTAR under the table. Those off you who came to the Gothenburg old-school heavy metal assault managed to get a glimpse off 'The Reaper'. We are very satisfied that we're on his 'not their time just yet' list. Also we like to thank Johan aka 'The Drill' for stepping in on the bass-guitar on such short notice since Tormentor was on the road in jolly ol' England. On October 21st we're playing at Club Aska in Örebro, Sweden and then on November 4th we're off to Keep It True fest in Germany. Hope to see you all front-row-bangers. And remember: The WOLF is loose and was last seen heading your way."
As previously reported, WOLF's video for the song "I Will Kill Again" has been posted onliine at this location (Quicktime required; 12 MB).
"The Black Flame" was recorded at Studio Fredman in Gothenburg, Sweden and includes such tracks as "The Bite", "Silverbullit Eater", and "Black Magic". The follow-up to 2004's "Evil Star" is the first album to feature new drummer Tobias R Kellgren and longtime session/live guitarist Johannes Losbäck alongside founding members Niklas Stålvind (vocals, lead guitar) and Mikael Goding (bass).
WOLF was formed 1995 by Stålvind and Goding. After recording several demos, Daniel "Dale" Bergkvist (drums) joined the band in 1997 and completed the core lineup that recorded the first three albums: "Wolf" (2000),"Black Wings" (2002) and "Evil Star" (2004) — all of them recorded and produced at the Abyss studio by Peter Tägtgren.
